NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Support Services Assistant (Catering) based at Leverndale Hospital in Glasgow. You will assist in delivering patient, staff and visitor catering services, including meal preparation, assembly and distribution, while ensuring food safety and hygiene standards.
The role involves following HACCP, handling dietary requirements, and maintaining records. A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and full driving licence are preferred; training is provided.

As a Support Services Assistant (Catering), you will work as part of the Catering Team to support the delivery of high-quality catering services for patients, staff, visitors and functions. The role involves assisting with food preparation, meal assembly, picking and packing meal components, meal distribution, regeneration of meals, service delivery, wash-up duties and cleaning activities. You will play an important part in ensuring food is prepared, handled and served safely while maintaining excellent standards of hygiene and customer service.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a or a NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).
You will be responsible for supporting the provision of patient, staff and visitor catering services, including the preparation and assembly of meals, distribution of food items and provision of specialist dietary requirements. The postholder will ensure food is received, stored, prepared, regenerated and served in line with HACCP procedures and food safety legislation. You will maintain accurate HACCP records, adhere to stock rotation procedures, operate catering equipment safely, uphold high standards of food hygiene and infection control, and follow all Health & Safety and Board policies. The role also involves cleaning duties, reporting equipment faults, working effectively with colleagues across departments and contributing to a safe, efficient and customer-focused catering service.
