Job summary

Priory Group's hospital Burgess Hill is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team. You'll work 10:00am–6:00pm, 37.5 hours per week, with alternate weekends and overtime opportunities.

The role involves supporting daily catering operations, basic food preparation, upholding food hygiene standards, and maintaining a clean, safe dining environment for patients and staff. Full training provided, with career development paths available.

Qualifications

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Understanding of basic food hygiene principles.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience in catering environment is welcome but not essential as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients.
• You will support the day-to-day catering operation by assisting with basic food preparation, maintaining excellent food hygiene standards, and ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are clean, safe, and well organised.
