Your Role as a Catering Assistant
As a Catering Assistant at HMP Northumberland, you will play a vital role in supporting the rehabilitation of prisoners through purposeful activity. This hands-on role involves instructing and supervising prisoners in preparing meals in accordance with approved recipes and hygiene standards. You'll ensure meals are produced efficiently and safely, while maintaining a clean and secure kitchen environment.
You will also contribute to the smooth operation of the catering service by managing stock, monitoring equipment maintenance needs, and ensuring food safety and security protocols are adhered to. This position is key to promoting positive engagement and structure for prisoners, while upholding Sodexo's high standards for health, safety, and operational excellence. Full training will be provided on kitchen security procedures.
