Overview

A Vacancy at Northumbria Healthcare - NHFM (Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management). We have a position available for a Catering Assistant to join the team.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the standards of cleanliness in work areas by approved methods.
  • Receive, check for quality, temperature and correct quantity of goods as per order to suppliers, and store goods within HACCP time limits.
  • Demonstrate the ability to serve food to staff and check temperature levels in accordance with Food Temperature Regulations.
  • Operate the central dish wash machine; clean, dry and check staff/ward crockery and cutlery.
  • Prepare vegetables, fruits and salads; prepare and dispatch meals.
  • Serve food in the restaurant and in the Dining Room and associated areas; prepare sandwiches, hot snacks and beverages where applicable.
  • Clean and restock vending machines and operate the Staff Dining Room cash register.

Notes

It is a requirement of NHFML that all successful applicants pay for their own DBS certificate, if a DBS check is required for the post. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first monthly pay. This vacancy will include all areas of catering and serving meals on wards, of which full training will be provided.
