Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to a pending pay award. The final salary will be adjusted in line with the nationally agreed pay award.

Are you passionate about food and dedicated to delivering exceptional service? We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Hafan y Waun Residential Care Home!

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of service, ensuring a positive dining experience for our residents.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and beverages, including setting up and clearing tables where necessary.
  • Record the temperature of food at the point of service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing up of equipment and utensils.
  • Collaborate with the catering team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Ensure strict compliance with current food handling and hygiene standards, guided by Food Safety legislation and Environmental Health Standards.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including manual handling, COSHH, and safe use of hazardous equipment.

Working hours:

  • 20 hours per week on a two-week rolling rota, including early/late shifts and weekends.
  • Previous experience of working in a kitchen environment.
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Has excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Displays a willingness to learn and undertake relevant courses as required.
