Job summary

Berkeley Scott Leeds is recruiting reliable Catering Assistants to work across a variety of sites in Scarborough. DBS would be preferred but is not essential. If you enjoy a busy catering environment and quality customer service, this could be a great fit.

The role involves food preparation, serving, cash handling, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Flexible hours and ongoing opportunities are available with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant or in a similar role.
• Experience with basic food preparation in a commercial kitchen.
• A good understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.
• A Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of food and beverages.
• Preparing sandwiches, salads, and other simple food items.
• Carrying out basic food preparation, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients.
• Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Operating the till and handling cash/card transactions.
• Setting up and clearing dining areas.
• Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
• Supporting the kitchen team with general catering duties.
• Following food safety and health & safety procedures at all times.
