Job summary

Easteden Ltd is seeking a Catering Assistant to deliver high-quality dining services within our care environments. You will assist with meal preparation, presentation and service, ensuring meals meet dietary needs and safety standards. The role emphasizes resident wellbeing, dignity and a warm, inclusive dining experience.

You will work with care, nursing and hospitality teams to maintain hygiene, support hydration and nutrition, and contribute to a person-centred dining culture across the Home.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) required.
• Demonstrable literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Food Hygiene, Catering or COSHH-related training/certification.
• Experience within a catering, kitchen, hospitality, care or customer service environment.
• Experience working within a healthcare, care or regulated environment.
• Ability to support high standards of catering, food hygiene, dining presentation and safe working practices.
• Strong spoken and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, presentation and service of meals, snacks, beverages and refreshments in accordance with organisational procedures and food safety standards.
• Support a positive dining experience that promotes resident wellbeing, dignity, choice and enjoyment.
• Assist in preparing and serving meals appropriate to individual dietary requirements, preferences and texture modified diets where required.
• Support the preparation and service of fortified meals, specialist dietary requirements and hydration support as trained.
• Support residents respectfully during meal times and dining experiences.
• Promote a welcoming, inclusive and respectful dining environment for residents and visitors.
