Job summary

Coventry College in Coventry, West Midlands, is recruiting a Catering Assistant to support busy dining services at our Swanswell Street campus. The role focuses on preparing the dining and service areas, assisting in cooking and serving, washing dishes and maintaining cleanliness in line with food hygiene standards.

You will work 37 hours per week over 36 weeks, with on-site parking, pension benefits, generous leave and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Basic food hygiene understanding is required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Willingness to learn and follow food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the dining area for service and set up furniture and trolleys.
• Prepare the service area, hot cupboards and equipment.
• Assist in preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages.
• Wash dishes, cutlery and catering equipment to required standards.
• Clean catering areas to regulated standards.
• Undertake on/off job training as required by management.
• Inform the Unit Manager of equipment or premises defects.
• May transfer to/from catering units (South/North Buildings).
• Undertake other duties as required for effective operation.
