Job description

Catering Assistants within the hospital have a key role in maintaining a high standard of meal provision to patients and contribute to the wider care team supporting patients during their hospital stay. You should have good organisational and communication skills, be flexible in your approach, and demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a friendly, dedicated team at Bridport Hospital.

As a Catering Assistant, you will assist in preparing sandwiches, salads, meals, hot/cold snacks, and pack frozen meals for delivery. You will also perform general kitchen duties, including washing up and maintaining cleanliness to a high standard.

This position is for 31 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the following shift pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday 09:00-16:00, Tuesday 07:00-15:30, Wednesday 10:30-16:00, Thursday 10:30-16:00, Friday 10:30-16:00
  • Week 2: Monday 09:00-16:00, Tuesday 10:30-16:00, Wednesday 10:30-16:00, Thursday 10:30-19:00, Friday 10:30-16:00

Applicants requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship are ineligible to apply.

Employment requires a DBS check, which the Trust will cover. Applicants subscribed to the DBS update service can present a valid certificate.

We offer a referral bonus of £500 for recommending a friend or family member who joins us and completes their probation.
