Role Description

Berelands House is located in Prestwick, South Ayrshire. Our home offers specialist nursing and dementia support for 63 adults, with 24-hour input from registered nurses. We also provide end of life/palliative care and respite services.

We aim to provide residents with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment, prioritizing their care, wellbeing, and comfort. Staff maintain the dignity, individuality, and privacy of residents within a warm and caring environment, being sensitive to their changing needs.

Position: Catering Assistant

We are looking for a Catering Assistant who can also cover for our Cooks occasionally.

As part of the Support Services team, our Cooks/Catering Assistants deliver high-quality meals to our residents. The successful candidate will support the catering operation by assisting with food preparation and hygiene, following company policies and procedures. You should be a reliable team player capable of managing pressure with excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, cook, and serve meals for 63 residents
• Ensure the kitchen and related areas meet hygiene standards and comply with Safe Catering policies

Candidate Requirements

• Excellent organizational skills

• Previous experience in meal preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen
• NVQ3 standard training and Intermediate Food Safety Certification preferred
