Job description
Overview

We are looking to add to our great catering team to work across various sites within the trust. The role will be 37.5 hours per week, working a range of shifts from 06:00 to 19:00, 5 days over 7 (including weekends).

Responsibilities
  • Work in our kitchens and service points, across units, to deliver a fantastic food service to our service users.
  • Carry out basic kitchen duties and assist in food service to service users.
  • Clean crockery, pots and pans using an industrial dishwashing machine and manual washing.
  • Prepare hot and cold food items and service patient meals or other functions.
  • Adhere to safe working practices in all aspects of hygiene management and risk management and security.
  • Carry out general and specialised cleaning tasks in accordance with Trust procedures.
  • Undertake mandatory training in COSHH, HACCP and comply with all Trust policies relevant to the post, particularly the food hygiene policy.
  • Load ovens and food trolleys.
  • Note that the role may require periods of standing and may involve moving and lifting goods and foodstuffs.
Location and coverage

The role will be based at the Catering Prestwich unit. However, you will be required to support other units.

Qualifications and attributes
  • Candidates will be expected to have or to be able to gain at least a Level 2 food hygiene knowledge.
  • A customer-focused approach and good communication skills are essential.
