Job summary

15 hours per week, 5 x 3-hour shifts, Monday to Saturday, 16:30 to 19:45, with a 15-minute unpaid break.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the catering department at Stockport NHS Trust. The role involves supporting the lunchtime service on site, including working on a conveyor belt assembling patient meal requests, and sanitising and cleaning crockery and cutlery after use.

You will be paid enhanced rates for weekends and bank holidays.

Your responsibilities include contributing to maintaining hygienic standards in food and beverage production and service, and supporting the cleaning of kitchens, restaurants, retail outlets, and patient food services.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Undertake food service duties in staff kitchens, visitor restaurants, and retail outlets.
2. Assist in food production in the kitchen, including preparation, cooking, and storage as directed by management.
3. Assist in serving food items as required.
4. Prepare the patient meal service area with necessary equipment, including cutlery, crockery, meal trays, and food, and handle portioning, plating, and serving of patient meals.
5. Ensure all food served is of high quality, with proper portion control, correct temperatures, and good presentation.
6. Assist with cleaning of meal service areas and equipment after service.
