Catering Assistant - Bank | Host/Hostess | Worcester | Flexible working hours | £12.26 per hour + enhancements available

Spire South Bank Hospital, Worcester, has an exciting opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our Hospitality Team on a weekday and weekend occasional/bank basis. The successful candidate will cover sickness and annual leave.

Spire South Bank Hospital is a state-of-the-art private hospital offering quick access to consultations with specialists across various treatments, supported by advanced imaging and diagnostic technology. We are committed to your health with high-quality accommodation and aftercare.

Working Hours: Shifts mainly on Saturdays and Sundays, with occasional weekday shifts. You will be part of the rota and may work shifts from 7am-12 noon, 7am-3pm, 12:00-8pm, or 5:00-8:00pm. Weekend enhancements are available.

Contract Type: Bank, with flexible hours covering annual leave and sickness.

Role Overview: As a Catering Assistant, you will assist in preparing and delivering food and beverage services to patients, staff, and visitors through basic food preparation and service.

Our catering services are provided in the colleague dining room, main reception snack area, patient bedrooms, and during on-site functions and events.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist with preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages to staff, patients, and consultants, maintaining the specified standards.
  2. Serve food to staff, visitors, and patients in the restaurant and wards.
  3. Take orders for food and beverages, respecting any dietary requirements.
  4. Manage stock control through rotation, date checks, and packaging integrity.
  5. Follow health and safety procedures in line with legislation.
  6. Perform general cleaning and washing-up duties in accordance with scheduled routines.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in a catering role.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with customers.
  • Dedicated to providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Basic food hygiene certification and understanding of health & safety are desirable.
