Job summary

Blue Arrow is recruiting an experienced kitchen assistant for a retirement village near Liverpool. The role is Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 2:30pm, supporting the on-site chef with food prep, sandwiches and salad preparation in a fast-paced catering environment.

You will need at least 12 months kitchen experience, a Level 2 food safety certificate (or willing to train), and a Child DBS dated within the last 12 months. The role is ongoing with a fixed weekly schedule and a weekend-enhanced rate.

Qualifications

• Hold at least 12 months experience in a kitchen.
• Be able to support the chef on site with food prep and cleaning.
• Have or be willing to obtain a Level 2 food safety certificate and a Child DBS dated in last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Support the chef in a fast-paced catering environment.
• Prepare sandwiches and salads and assist with food prep.
• Assist with kitchen operations and cleaning after service.

This role will require you to work Monday - Friday 9.30am - 2.30pm . Please only apply if you can commit to all 5 days. As the hours are worked over 5 days in total - no students with restrictions should apply.

As an experienced kitchen assistant, you will be familiar with a fast-paced catering environment, already be hands on, supporting the chef, food prepping, making sandwiches, and salad preparation. You will also be efficient at the kitchen role and have a good understanding of how kitchens are managed, operated, and cleaned down for each service. You will be working in a retirement village with mature clients.

Is this you?

• Hold a level 2 food safety or willing to purchase and undergo training
• At least 12 months experience in a kitchen
• Understand how to support the chef on site and be quick at food prep and cleaning

The hours and days are fixed weekly. The role is ongoing. The retirement village is for clients to live on site and visitors who are related to the clients may visit, we cater for Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. Hot & old food is served daily, and weekends can be very busy hence we would require someone with experience.

There is an enhanced rate for part of the weekend

Pay £12.71 - £13.00

Days Monday - Friday

Hours 10am - 6.30pm
