Job description

Reporting into the Chef Manager, responsibilities will include:

  1. Delivering a quality catering service in line with health, safety and hygiene requirements.
  2. Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
  3. Minimising wastage when preparing meals and using equipment correctly.
  4. Escalating concerns and issues appropriately.

Required knowledge & experience:

  1. Level 2 food safety certificate.
  2. Knowledge of health & safety procedures including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH).
  3. Previous catering experience with knowledge of basic food safety and safe use of knives & kitchen equipment.
  4. Experience working with older people.

Required skills:

  1. Ability to organise time and prioritise activities.
  2. Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  3. Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team and independently.
