Job summary

Aspens Services is a market-leading school catering provider dedicated to delivering quality meals and great service in Swadlincote and surrounding areas.

We are seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team. You will support kitchen staff with basic food prep and take pride in delivering excellent service during the lunch period.

Qualifications

• Team player and able to work in a busy kitchen environment.
• Experience in catering or fast-paced service is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices is expected.
• Full UK driving licence is required or beneficial.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is desirable but not essential as training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: handling tills during service with training provided.
• Front-Line Service: delivering friendly, polite service to students and staff.
• Essential Support: assisting with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining Standards: keeping kitchen clean and compliant with Health & Safety.

The role:

As a Catering Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team, supporting our kitchen in basic food preparation and delivering excellent service that makes the lunchtime rush run smoothly.

You’ll be making a real difference through responsibilities that include:

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service (don’t worry, full training is provided!).
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite customer service to all students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation
• Maintaining Standards: Ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment and meeting Health and Safety compliance
