We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Catering Assistant to join our team and help deliver outstanding customer service. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality food and beverage services, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met, and supporting the overall success of the catering operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages
- Ensure food is maintained at appropriate temperatures, and all food safety and hygiene procedures are followed.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the venue, including setting up, cleaning equipment, and public areas.
- Clear tables of glassware, crockery, and cutlery, ensuring tables are ready for next use.
- Carry out routine cleaning, maintenance, and waste disposal.
- Assist in the effective setup of furniture for customer requirements.
- Handle cash and sales transactions following company procedures.
- Comply with Health & Safety, hygiene, and COSHH regulations.
- Be alert to safety hazards and well-being concerns, act as Fire Marshall in an emergency.
- Maximise sales by promoting food, beverages, and services effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing any complaints or concerns promptly.
- Support team colleagues and provide cover as required.
Person Specification
Essential
- Understanding of Health and Safety and food safety.
- Excellent customer service skills and effective communication.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work under pressure.
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
Desirable
- First aid certificate, IT qualification.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate/training provided
- Experience in a catering environment, including food and beverage preparation.
- Previous experience in sales and cash handling procedures.
