Job summary

Mariposa Care Group Ltd is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant for The Old Prebendal House. You will assist the kitchen team with food preparation, cleaning, and storage while ensuring dietary needs are met and records are kept up to date.

Ideally, you will hold a food hygiene certificate and a Level 2 catering qualification or be committed to training. Benefits include paid recognitions, training funding, and staff health options.

Qualifications

• Ideally hold a food hygiene certificate and Level 2 catering qualification or be willing to undertake relevant training.
• Experience in care home kitchen is preferred but not essential if you have commercial kitchen experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef with food preparation, cooking and meal assembly.
• Assist with cleaning, storage and maintaining hygiene standards.
• Ensure dietary requirements are met and keep accurate records where required.
• Assist with washing crockery and utensils and operate kitchen equipment as needed.

Job description

Hourly rate: £12.71 per hour

Qualifications Required: Ideally, you will have food hygiene certificate and a Level 2 catering qualification or equivalent (or a commitment to undertake further training and development, relevant to the role)

Mariposa Care has an opportunity available for a Catering Assistant to join the kitchen team in our friendly care home, The Old Prebendal House. We’re on the lookout for someone to support the Chef with food preparation, cleaning and storage, ensuring different dietary requirements are met where necessary, assisting in maintaining accurate records and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You'll support with the washing of crockery and cutlery and other associated items/equipment by hand and/or by using equipment as required.

Ideally, you will have worked in a care home kitchen before but if you haven’t, you’ll still have experience of food preparation and kitchen cleaning in a commercial environment.
