Job description

We are looking for someone to join our team as a Catering Assistant for a busy hospital restaurant and 3 wards!

Based in Sheppey Community Hospital, you will be involved in ensuring the kitchen and associated areas are cleaned in accordance with the department's standards and schedule. You will prepare food and deliver to other sites and will help support the team in meeting the needs of the Catering service and complement the delivery of service user care by our clinical staff.

This is a part-time position (24 hours per week). We have various working patterns available including shifts covering the weekend. Shift patterns can be discussed in detail at interview but will primarily be Monday to Friday between the hours of 07:45 to 17:00; however, some weekend work is included as well as bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

As a Catering Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning to department standards and ensuring a HACCP plan is followed in relation to food delivery, preparation, cooking, and serving.
  • Being flexible with working hours to support any changes to maintain service to the wards.
