Reigate College is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to provide excellent service to students and staff in a busy environment. This part-time role involves assisting the Chef Manager and creating memorable dining experiences for up to 3000 students. The successful applicant will work week by week over the academic year and assist in catering for occasional events.
The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Catering Assistant to assist the Chef Manager and Deputy Chef Manager in providing up to 3000 students and 300 staff with a first class, high quality, in-house catering service in the College’s Refectory. The successful applicant will perform a range of catering duties to assist with the smooth running of the catering operation and to provide the highest possible level of customer service.
The post is available from Monday 8 September 2025 on a permanent, part-time basis. The hours of work are from 9.30am to 3.00pm, on Monday to Friday each week, for 37 weeks per year.
Although the post is for 37 weeks per year, the salary will be divided into 12 monthly payments. There will be some private functions during the evenings and weekends for which extra payment will be given.
As a Catering Assistant, you will work in a busy environment and will be required to regularly interact with students, so the ability to feel confident in the presence of and communicating with young adults is essential.
Department
The department is made up of a Chef, a Deputy Chef and 12 Catering Assistants, who work closely together to ensure an effective catering service is provided for staff and students alike.
The salary for this post is from £13,923.21 (FTE £24,833) to £14,504.77 (FTE £25,867) per annum.
