Job summary

NTW Solutions Limited is seeking a Catering Assistant to join the St Georges Park Hospital team. The role is Band A, £12.92 per hour, for 30 hours per week on a 2-week rotation with weekend work.

Working in a chilled environment, you will handle basic food preparation, packing and cleaning, with manual handling duties and patient meal preparation. This part-time role offers NHS-aligned terms, pro-rata pay, and weekend-enhancement opportunities.

We are recruiting to the Team at St Georges Park Hospital to work within our friendly Catering Department.

This post is offered at - 30.00 hours per week

Shift pattern between 09.50am to 17.50pm on a 2 week rotation working alternative weekends.

Main duties of the job

Basic food preparation/ packing and cleaning duties within a chilled environment.

Manual handling duties to include excepting and putting deliveries away, collecting items to prep & pack within a walk in freezer, chilled environment

Candidate will be expected to work within a chilled and freezer environment

Regeneration of patients food in a ward environment

• Any previous service industry experience (D) (but we will train you fully if you don’t have any experience)
• Previous experience of stock control

Qualifications

• You don’t need any formal qualifications for this job, but a certificate in hygiene is desirable. You will be trained in food hygiene and health and safety as part of the role.

All jobs will be appointed on the NTW Solutions Limited terms and conditions and not NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions. New starters who are not in the NHS Pension already will be enrolled into a NEST pension.

Recruitment into NTW Solutions Limited will follow the principals of NHS Employer Check Standards and any relevant employment legislation.
