Job summary

Parmiter's School in Liverpool is seeking a friendly Catering Assistant to join our busy kitchen, primarily serving in Café6 and the main kitchen. You will help prepare and plate hot and cold items, serve pupils and staff during break and lunch, and assist with washing up and keeping areas tidy.

This permanent, term-time role offers a 9:30 to 14:30 pattern, training in food hygiene and health & safety, and benefits including a London fringe allowance and the Local Government Pension Scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of current food hygiene regulations is desirable, training will be provided.
• Strong communication skills and positive interaction with staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and assembly of hot and cold food items.
• Provide friendly food service to students and staff during breaks and lunchtimes.
• Washing up and clearing areas to maintain a clean kitchen and café.

Job description

We are looking for a friendly, energetic Catering Assistant to join our busy school kitchen, primarily working in our Sixth Form Café (Café6). The successful candidate will be part of a successful team, ensuring the efficient delivery of a high-quality, nutritious food service for our students and staff. Following Food Safety and Health and Safety regulations, the role involves -

• assisting in the preparation and assembly of hot and cold food items.
• providing a friendly food service to students and staff during break and lunch times
• washing up and clearing areas
• supporting school events with catering duties, on occasions, outside regular hours

We are looking for a flexible individual to work primarily as part of a small team in Café6 and in the main school kitchen and Snack Shack facility, as required. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a catering environment, with knowledge of current food hygiene regulations, although this is not essential as training will be given. Strong communication skills and the natural ability to interact positively with staff and students are essential.

This is a permanent role working during the school term time. The preferred working pattern is 9.30 - 14.30, Monday to Friday.
