About the Role

If you are interested in providing school meals for children, consider joining our Catering Assistants teams in Leven and Kirkcaldy areas. We have both permanent and temporary vacancies, working Monday to Friday on a 38-week contract.

  • Kirkcaldy High School: 10 hours/week, 12:30pm to 2:30pm
  • Windmill High School: 10 hours/week, 12:30pm to 2:30pm
  • East Wemyss Primary School: 10 hours/week, 12:00 noon to 2:00pm (temporary for one year)

Leven Positions

  • Parkhill Primary School: 2 posts x 10 hours/week, 38-week contract, either 10:00am to 12:00 noon or 12:00 noon to 2:00pm
  • Methilhill Primary School: 16.25 hours/week, 12:00 noon to 2:00pm

Salary and Benefits

Salary: £22,525.71 pro-rata. Benefits include:

  • Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £12.00/hour, with extra payments for shift work including weekends
  • Pay every 4 weeks; annualized pay for 38-week contracts

Role Responsibilities

This role involves providing customer service and ensuring pupils and staff receive hot or cold meals daily. You will gain on-the-job training and work towards a Food Hygiene Certificate.

The Person

Before appointment, you must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant PVG scheme.

Attendance at Induction Training is required before starting in the role.
