Job summary

Sodexo Ltd. is recruiting a Catering Assistant for Leicester Grammar School (LE8 9DJ). This 20-hour-per-week role runs Monday to Friday from 11am to 3pm, with a £12.71 per hour rate and a daily meal allowance. You will help present school meals appealingly, stock and clean the kitchen, and support deliveries while adhering to hygiene and safety standards.

You will work as part of a team, value punctuality, and enjoy a supportive, on-site environment with parking and school hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar environment is helpful but not a deal breaker.
• Able to work as part of a fast-paced school catering team.
• Good communication and reliable attendance are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious meals for our school team and pupils.
• Keep the kitchen and serving areas stocked, clean, and hygienic at all times.
• Support the loading and unloading of supply and delivery vehicles.
• Observe food handling and hygiene regulations.
• Follow health and safety guidelines.
• Ensure that all machines and equipment are operated correctly.

Equated pay

(sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks, and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of just receiving pay during the months that you work and none during the school closures/non-working weeks. This means that you get paid equal amounts every month. Further information will be supplied at the interview stage.

As a Catering Assistant for Sodexo at Leicester Grammar School, LE8 9DJ, you will contribute towards the smooth running of a fast-paced food and beverage operation. You will be responsible for showcasing what the kitchen supplies, presenting it in the most eye-catching way possible, and ensuring we offer the best service possible. You will not work unsociable hours and will have public holidays off, including Christmas!
