Job summary

The Gardens Neurological Centre and Jacobs Neurological Centre, run by Elysium Healthcare Limited, are seeking a Catering Assistant to support the kitchen team, help prepare meals and maintain hygiene throughout the site.

You will assist with serving, stock control and ensuring compliance with COSHH/HACCP guidelines, while coordinating with dietitians to plan meals for residents.

Qualifications

• Relevant catering qualification preferred.
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP.
• Experience in a similar catering role.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and cooking of meals.
• Serve meals and beverages to service users, staff and visitors.
• Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensure areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored properly.
• Ensure kitchen and areas meet hygiene standards and policies.
• Liaise with dietitians regarding dietary plans.

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
• Serving service users, staff and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company's policies and procedures.
• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP
• Experience of working within similar role.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Where you will be working:Gardens Neurological Centre and Jacobs Neurological Centre have a combined total of 132 beds on the same site in Sawbridgeworth (CM21 0HH), which is on the Hertfordshire and Essex border within easy travelling distance of London and Cambridge.The two Centres deliver specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions, and brain or spinal injuries who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability. Recovery is assisted wherever possible, with emphasis placed on maximising each individual's abilities, comfort and quality of life.Each service has communal lounges, dining rooms, and all bedrooms have en-suite facilities with over 95% on single occupancy. All rooms are adapted to each resident's requirements according to their assessments and needs.
