Job summary

ISS is recruiting for Part Time Catering Assistants to support school dining services. You will help prepare, serve and present meals, while maintaining food safety and hygiene in a welcoming school environment.

The role involves setting up dining areas, handling deliveries, and delivering friendly, professional service to students and staff. A DBS check will be arranged by ISS during onboarding, and the position operates on a term-time-only basis with annualised pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, food service, hospitality or customer-facing roles is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS check required as part of onboarding.

As a Catering Assistant, you'll be part of a friendly and supportive team, helping to prepare and serve healthy, nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming school environment. From food preparation and service to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, you'll play an important role in ensuring students enjoy their lunchtime experience. At ISS, you'll be part of a company that values its people and provides opportunities to learn, develop, and grow. One of the key benefits of this role is the term-time-only contract with annualised pay. This means your salary is spread evenly across 12 months and paid monthly, giving you the security of a regular income throughout the year, including during school and college holiday periods.

The Role

• Support the preparation, presentation, and serving of meals.

• Work collaboratively as part of the catering team to deliver an excellent customer experience. Previous experience in a catering, food service, hospitality, or customer-facing role desirable.

• Ability to follow procedures, and instructions accurately.
• Positive, reliable, and team-focused approach.

As this role is based within a school environment, all successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check. ISS will arrange and cover the cost of this as part of the onboarding process.
