About the role
This is a new role within the newly opened canteen at Booker Distribution Fareham.
You will have previous experience working in a kitchen.
Working in a small team of catering assistants, you will provide hot and cold food service to colleagues and ensure that the canteen area is clean and tidy at all times.
You will be responsible for
- Ordering stock for food preparation and vending machines.
- Supporting stock management and control.
- Code checking and quality control of stock.
- Preparing food in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
- Replenishing and managing vending machines (price changes, cleaning, cash collection).
- Providing hospitality support.
- Maintaining housekeeping in the canteen, kitchen facilities, dining area, and kitchen counters.
- Adhering to food hygiene, HACCP, allergen, and COSHH guidelines at all times.
- Monitoring temperature controls and expiry dates diligently.
You will need
- Cooking experience is essential.
- Food hygiene & safety certification at level 2.
- Allergen training certification.
- Food handling qualification.
- An excellent attitude towards customer service, with a friendly, outgoing personality, and experience working within a team environment.
- A high standard of presentation and the ability to work within a team, producing and serving a varied menu to colleagues and visitors on site.
- The ability to prepare, cook, serve food, and perform cleaning duties, including stocking vending machines.
