Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our busy Catering Team. You will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive meals and refreshments on time while helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and customer service across the hospital.

Shifts vary between 6.00am–8.00pm, 7 days a week including weekends and bank holidays; you must be a team player with a flexible approach.

Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the Catering Supervisor or Team Leader, you will:

• Deliver meals, refreshments and patient provisions to wards and departments across the hospital.
• Support the day-to-day operation of the Catering Service for patients, visitors and staff.
• Carry out cleaning duties across catering areas, including kitchens, storerooms, fridges, freezers and associated facilities.
• Follow food safety and HACCP procedures and accurately record information using the Kelsius system.
• Complete documentation and job sheets as required.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistantto join our busy Catering Team. As part of our Estates and Facilities service, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive meals and refreshments on time while helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and customer service throughout the hospital. No two days are the same, and you will be part of a supportive team that helps keep essential hospital services running smoothly. The kitchen is operational 7 days a week 365 days a year, between 6.00am - 8.00pm. The candidate needs to be a team player who has a flexible approach. Shifts vary between 6.00am - 8.00pm and will include weekends and bank holidays.
