Job summary

A local NHS health care provider in Ellesmere Port is looking for a part-time Catering Assistant. Catering Assistant

The closing date is 03 December 2025

To undertake catering duties to a high standard of cleanliness and safe practices in the distribution centre / Kitchen and associated areas.

To assist with basic food preparation as and when required, compliance with hygiene and HACCP policies.

To take deliveries, ensure stock is ordered on a timely manner to avoid shortages.

To pick and pack patients food orders daily.

Part time - 22.5 hours per week (Rota Based - Every other weekend involved. Shift times between 9am-3pm).

The Trust currently supports the RealLivingWage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.

Shortlisting for this vacancy is due to be completed on 08/12/2025 and the proposed interview date is 15/12/2025.

Main duties of the job
  • Picking and packing of the food transport boxes.
  • Ensure all temperature monitoring systems are up to date and recorded.
  • Ordering and receiving of stock – quality control of all products.
  • Reporting damage or ineffective machinery in a timely manner.
  • Trained or training to intermediate food hygiene level.
  • Stock takes and management of supplier systems.
  • Dealing with "customer" complaints or issues and resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Reporting to the Catering Manager.
