Brendoncare Stildon in East Grinstead is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our friendly team. You will help prepare nutritious meals, support dietary needs, and keep the kitchen clean and safe in a care-home setting.

The role offers £12.85 per hour with breaks, free meals on duty, uniform provided, and enhanced holiday entitlement. Relevant experience in care homes or catering for older adults is preferred.

Catering Assistant

Do you enjoy working with food, take pride in maintaining high standards, and want to make a positive difference every day?

We're looking for a Catering Assistant to join our friendly team at Brendoncare Stildon. Working alongside our Chef Manager and Second Chef, you'll help prepare nutritious, appetising meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents, while ensuring the kitchen remains safe, clean and well organised.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks
• Supporting meal preparation in line with residents' dietary requirements
• Stock rotation and safe food storage
• Maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness
• Completing HACCP records accurately
• Ensuring COSHH and food hygiene standards are met and exceeded
• Supporting the wider catering team to deliver an excellent dining experience

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, organised and able to work well as part of a team
• Passionate about food and maintaining high standards
• Committed to excellent food hygiene and safety practices
• Caring and respectful in their approach to older people

Priority will be given to applicants with experience working in a care home environment or catering for older/vulnerable adults, with an understanding of their dietary and nutritional needs.
