If you have an interest in providing school meals for children of all ages, you could be perfect for this career. Join one of our teams of Catering Assistants in Schools and Nurseries within the St Andrews area.

We currently have a permanent vacancy to join our team at Crail Primary School. This position is Monday to Friday, working 7.5 hours per week on a 52-week contract.

CRAIL PS

  • Catering Assistant – 7.5 hours per week, 52-week contract. Hours are Monday to Friday, covering morning break in the nursery.

You will earn a competitive salary of £23,783.40 pro-rata and have access to a range of benefits, including:

  • £12.67 per hour to start, with extra payments for shift work, including weekends.
  • Pay is every 4 weeks and annualised for 38-week contracts.
  • Access to training opportunities and qualifications for the role.
  • Local and national discounts, including supermarkets, restaurants, and retail stores.
  • Membership of the Fife Pension Fund, part of the Scottish Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS Scotland).

This role involves providing excellent customer service, ensuring pupils and staff receive hot or cold meals daily. You will finish each day knowing you've made a difference, whether serving at Breakfast Club, Morning Break, or Lunch.

No previous experience is required, as on-the-job training will be provided, including working towards a Food Hygiene Certificate.

The Person

Before confirming your appointment, you will need to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant PVG scheme.

Ability to provide regular, effective service as part of a team is essential.

You will be required to attend an Induction Training Day before starting.
