Job Opportunity: Catering Assistant at Catterick Salvation Army

Working hours: 20 hours per week, Monday - Thursday, 16:15 - 21:15

Catterick Salvation Army is seeking a Catering Assistant to assist in the safe and efficient operation of the kitchen and front of house. The role involves working as part of a team to fulfill various duties related to kitchen and counter service.

Responsibilities include:

1. Setting up the café, taking orders, serving customers, and maintaining hygiene standards.
2. Providing excellent communication and working collaboratively with the team.
3. Maintaining cleanliness of all areas, including tables, ensuring they are cleared and cleaned promptly.
4. Preparing hot food and cold sandwiches according to orders.
5. Keeping the dishwashing area clean and organized, managing crockery, cutlery, and utensils coming from the counter.

Candidate Requirements:

• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Experience with cleaning equipment.
• Ability to monitor stock levels of cleaning materials and recognize when to reorder.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative.
• Physical ability to move chairs, tables, and equipment as needed.
