Job description

Job Title: Catering Assistant

BAM FM is recruiting a Catering Assistant to work at Robert Blake School in Bridgwater.

Available Shift Pattern:

• 20 hours a week, Monday-Friday
• 10.45am - 2.45pm
• Term Time only

Pay: £12.21 per Hour, Overtime available

Your responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to recipes and methods
• Prepare ingredients for meals
• Follow HACCP and food safety regulations
• Keep clean and dirty processes separate
• Prepare food for transportation (chilled/hot)
• Serve food and refill consumables
• Maintain food safety records using management systems
• Ensure proper storage of supplies
• Provide courteous customer service
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues
• Manage stock levels and assist in financial targets
• Participate in training and team meetings
• Follow management instructions and company policies

Candidate requirements

• Experience in cooking/food prep for large groups
• Willingness to gain catering qualification
• Level 2 Hygiene Certificate (desirable)
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Proficiency with relevant equipment and ICT (desirable)
• Understanding of COSHH regulations
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to participate in training
