Job summary

BaxterStorey in Barnsley is hiring a Catering Assistant for a temporary role. The position covers 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with potential to increase hours during staff holidays.

You will assist in food preparation, customer service, barista duties, and daily station tasks, contributing to a lively, guest-focused service environment. We offer training, development opportunities, free on-shift meals, and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Have a contagious passion for food and customer service.

• Positive and friendly attitude.
• Previous experience in a similar role, especially in the food service industry, is often a plus.
• Some knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Service – serve food and beverages to guests in a friendly and professional manner. Ensure that guests’ needs and requests are efficiently and effectively addressed
• Customer Service - provide excellent service by being attentive to guests’ needs at every point on their customer journey. Answering questionsin a friendly manner
• Teamwork - collaborate with all other staff to ensure the smooth flow of operations and support and contribute to creating an inclusive and safe working environment
• Adherence to Regulations - comply with health and safety regulations, as well as any specific food service or catering guidelines established on location
• Cleanliness - maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all catering areas

This is a a NEW ROLE to support our team and business on our busiest days of the week. This is a varied role that includes food preparation, serving customers, making barista coffee, filling vending machines, stock taking and much more!
