Job summary

Aspens Services in Balderton is seeking a Catering Assistant to support our kitchen during lunchtimes and ensure smooth service for pupils and staff. The role focuses on front-line customer service and basic food preparation in a school catering environment.

You will work Monday to Friday during term time, 25 hours per week, with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour and a DBS disclosure required. We offer training and development within a fast-growing catering team.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or fast-paced service is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is beneficial but not essential; training is provided.

The role

As a Catering Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team, supporting our kitchen in basic food preparation and delivering excellent service that makes the lunchtime rush run smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service (don't worry, full training is provided!).
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite customer service to all students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation
• Maintaining Standards: Ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment and meeting Health and Safety compliance
