Job summary

Aspens Services, a market-leading contract caterer specializing in school food, is hiring a Catering Assistant in Leicester. You will support our kitchen with basic food preparation and deliver friendly service during the lunch rush.

You’ll work Monday to Friday during school term time, 12.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year, at £12.71 per hour. Training provided; enhanced DBS disclosure may be required to safeguard children.

Qualifications

• You’re a team player and thrive as part of a busy team.
• You have previous catering or fast-paced service experience.
• You have a basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification is helpful but training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service with full training provided.
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite customer service to students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining Standards: Keeping the kitchen safe, clean and compliant with Health and Safety.

The role:

As a Catering Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team, supporting our kitchen in basic food preparation and delivering excellent service that makes the lunchtime rush run smoothly.

You’ll be making a real difference through responsibilities that include:
