Working as part of the Catering team to deliver a range of food and beverages in line with Food Hygiene legislation and NHS Lanarkshire policies and procedures to meet the nutritional needs of Patients, Staff, and users of NHS Lanarkshire services.

To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

What we'll need you to bring
  • Knowledge of catering standards and related procedures.
  • Required to undertake on the job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked), to achieve full competency across a range of duties.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
  • Undertake and complete NHSS Catering Services Workbook.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
  • Required to obtain the Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have
  • Experience within a catering environment
  • Knowledge of systems and processes e.g. HACCP; manual handling; management of aggression; infection control; COSHH; fire safety; cash handling/reconciliation

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Catering department within University Hospital Monklands.

The working pattern for this role: Monday to Friday, 4pm-8pm
