BSS, part of Travis Perkins plc, is hiring a Category Manager for Pumps & Pumping equipment based at Magna Park, Lutterworth. The role blends face-to-face collaboration with branches, suppliers and the head office, with several days per week in the office and around two days from home.

You will own category strategies, set pricing, drive product innovation and manage supplier relationships to maximise trading margins.

Qualifications

• Evidence of strong commercial experience in plumbing/heating or merchanting.
• Analytical skills to use data for decisions and drive strategy.
• Ability to build credible supplier relationships and influence outcomes.
• Experience in fast-paced, matrixed environments with effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Review trading performance and act on opportunities or concerns.
• Deliver pricing and range reviews to optimise performance.
• Define supply base strategy and manage supplier relationships.
• Lead negotiation of key supplier trading agreements.
• Develop cross-functional relationships across brands.
