Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting for a Category Manager to join the Anglian Water @One Alliance.

What will you be doing as our new Category Manager?

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, your role is to support and develop the portfolio and procurement strategies aligned with the business outcomes. This strategic position involves developing and managing our strategic partners and non-framework supply chain during project and portfolio execution.

The main challenge is to outperform the Procurement “Whitebook” initiative by driving efficiencies through negotiation, leadership, and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and implement sourcing agreements with Anglian Water.
• Aggregate demand based on business needs, promoting “Best for Task” and innovation within the supply chain.
• Develop and implement SMART objectives/KPIs with supply chain partners to ensure timely delivery and mitigate risks.
• Gain comprehensive knowledge of the markets relevant to your category and monitor market risks (financial and capacity).
• Conduct regular 360 review meetings with stakeholders to evaluate performance and identify value-added initiatives within the supply chain.
• Engage with the solution team to ensure the right supply chain is available to meet delivery and procurement strategies.
• Ensure all commercial requirements are submitted and audited to optimize overall commercial performance within the Alliance.
• Implement SHEA processes and procedures across all deliverables.

Skills, Experience, and Behaviours

• Hold a CIPS professional standard and membership (or equivalent).
• Experience in a senior procurement/sourcing role.
• Ability to manage demanding stakeholders effectively.
• Resourceful and persuasive, embracing collaboration and innovation under pressure.
• Strong leadership skills, championing integrity and accountability within the team.
• Operate with a transparent, commercial outlook, with the customer at the core of activities, and translate strategic thinking into operational action.
