Fleet Procurement Category Manager - Fleet, HGV, Trailer & MHE

Are you an experienced procurement professional with a passion for delivering strategic value in fleet operations? We are looking for a Category Manager to lead procurement across Fleet and MHE, supporting a large, complex fleet operation with high commercial visibility.

About the Role

The Fleet Procurement Category Manager will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies for capital equipment and supporting services. You will lead end-to-end procurement for high-value fleet assets, ensuring commercial value, supply chain resilience, and sustainability targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the procurement lifecycle across a national fleet.
  • Develop and deliver category strategies aligned to operational and commercial goals.
  • Lead supplier sourcing, negotiation, tendering, and contract award processes
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, driving value beyond price.
  • Collaborate with Fleet, Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure optimal total cost of ownership.
  • Monitor market trends, legislation, and technology developments to inform strategy.
  • Support ESG, compliance, and lifecycle cost initiatives across the fleet

What We are Looking For

  • Proven experience in fleet, transport, or capital equipment procurement.
  • Deep understanding of Fleet categories and supplier landscapes.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Skilled in strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier performance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • CIPS qualification or equivalent (preferred).
