Job Purpose:

In this position, you will refine and implement effective local and sub-regional category strategies. You will work closely with local and global procurement teams to identify and onboard top suppliers, ensuring strong relationships are maintained. Your role will also involve preparing and leading supplier negotiations at the local level, requiring excellent stakeholder management skills to effectively collaborate across various business units.

Your tasks
  • Provide professional sourcing support for key business initiatives, supply market research/ intelligence to support business decisions in investments and budgets.
  • Establishment of global or local frame contracts.
  • Identification of strategic sourcing opportunities and development and management of strategic suppliers is a key in the arena of Heavy Vehicle Solutions (Trucks, Trailers and associated services).
  • Achieving greatest value contribution, benefit realization and efficiency from all procurement activities and ensuring fulfillment of joint goals with internal business partner by meeting their demands in terms of quality, price and service.
  • Specialize in strategic sourcing of goods and services in order to reduce costs and ensure quality and supply as needed by the business.
  • Ongoing risk evaluation and setup of mitigating measures where needed incl. supplier risk assessment.
  • Evaluate and compare suppliers based on Total cost of Ownership (TCO) taking sustainability requirements into consideration.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement processes.
  • Master data/AI enabled negotiation techniques.
  • Develop lasting partnerships with trad. suppliers and startups.
  • Manage larger complexity of contracts and new contract types (e.g. with startups).
  • Deep understanding of the regional business as well as market and trends of the specific categories.
Your profile
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
  • Over 4 years of relevant experience in procurement
  • Strong understanding of procurement practices, procedures with category-specific expertise.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and project management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Analytical thinking skills to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Fluent in English, German skills are highly desirable.
