Petroineos Terminal

About Us

Petroineos is Scotland’s biggest and newest fuel import and distribution Terminal. Ideally located in Grangemouth, the Terminal Road Station hosts approx. 500 vehicle movements daily supported by a Tank Farm and Jetties, providing shipping and storage support to the 24/7 operation.

We are seeking a Category Lead (Materials) to join our newly established Terminal team at Grangemouth on a permanent basis.

About the Role

The Category Lead will source, tender, negotiate and place contracts and orders for the procurement of materials and services across the Terminal, achieving best value and managing risk.

Key Accountabilities

  • Determine the style of contract that will best deliver the best overall value and delivery outcome
  • Verify requirement and scope specification eliminating unnecessary costs expenditure
  • Conduct robust and timely tenders
  • Ensure that all purchase orders and contracts are placed in accordance within defined business processes with competent and approved supply chain.
  • Take ownership of order delivery process and expedite as appropriate
  • Establish an understanding of the supply market including main suppliers/contractors
  • Assess business risk/opportunity with Supply Chain
  • Provide expert advice on supplier risks, including in depth market knowledge both commercial and technical
  • Set out contracts that are fully compliant to support business needs that are legally binding, that mitigate any and all commercial risk and drive appropriate supplier performance
  • Identify new competent accredited suppliers that are appropriate for a Terminal.
  • Maintain an approved supplier database
  • Setup price agreements, framework and/or term contracts.
  • Implement strategies to reduce transactions and cycle time

We also require candidates to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Required

  • Chartered membership in a related procurement (MCIPS) or Quantity Surveying Discipline
  • Previous purchasing experience, can demonstrate a track record delivery of cost savings and value engineering
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Strong financial understanding of the cost drivers on contracts in order to demonstrate transparency and overall value
  • Able to plan and prioritise workload to support Terminal needs
  • Ability draft contracts that are fully compliant to support the business needs

Desirable

  • Broad forms of contract experience
  • Maximo and SAP experience
  • Degree Qualified

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is up to circa £52k dependent on experience level. In addition, we also offer:
