Category Lead

A leading FM contractor is looking for a Category Lead to join their national team.

The main objective of the role is to develop and deploy a category strategy for a portfolio of assigned FM, Indirect and MEP categories.

Key duties will include:

• Writing and presenting category strategies, running end to end tenders.
• Managing stakeholders internally, ensuring they are bought into the category strategy.
• Leading innovations across categories, running supplier workshops.
• Leading sustainability initiatives across categories.

You will be responsible for managing a spend of up to £40m across various categories and be part of a strong national procurement team who are delivering significant results.

Candidate Requirements

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Category Buyer looking for a step up, with support and training offered.

1. Minimum of 3 years strategic procurement experience working for any large contractor.
2. A mixture of operational and strategic procurement experience.
3. Experience of negotiating/managing relationships with suppliers.
4. Must be happy to travel 1-2 days per week.
