Job description

Join Myton Food Group

As a Category Executive, you’ll play a key role in driving category and customer growth across Myton Food Group’s growing customers base. Working closely with the Category Controller, Commercial, NPD, Insight, and Sales teams, you’ll harness data, trends, and shopper insights to create compelling category plans that deliver revenue, margin growth, and consumer-centric innovation.

You’ll support the delivery of 1-3 year strategies by analysing market dynamics, identifying opportunities, and turning insight into action. This role is perfect for someone passionate about food, data-savvy, and ready to influence decisions at a senior level.

Key Responsibilities:
Insight & Strategy
  1. Translate shopper insights, market data, and consumer trends into actionable recommendations.
  2. Present key findings to senior stakeholders, influencing the future direction of categories.
  3. Monitor performance and adjust strategy to maximise growth.
Customer Engagement
  1. Manage account reporting schedules and deliver NPD and range change insights.
  2. Build strong working relationships with Morrisons and external customers.
  3. Attend industry events to stay ahead of market trends and build networks.
Collaboration & Influence
  1. Work cross-functionally with Operations, NPD, Finance, and Customer teams.
  2. Support the operational delivery of new and evolving products that meet category goals.
  3. Champion a Customer-first mindset across the division.
Growth & Delivery
  1. Contribute to 3-year growth strategies for both internal and external customers.
  2. Identify category gaps and lead the development of profitable new propositions.
  3. Aid delivery of innovation that unlocks new business and enhances manufacturing margins.

What We’re Looking For:

Knowledge & Experience
  1. Strong knowledge of the UK grocery market and chilled food category management.
  2. Experience in food manufacturing or retail environments, ideally in category roles.
  3. Proven ability to translate data into actionable insight and commercial presentations.
Skills
  1. Data-savvy with excellent analytical and storytelling skills.
  2. Confident in presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing across teams.
  3. Commercial acumen with an understanding of margins, pricing, and customer drivers.
  4. Proficient in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
