Role: Category Analyst

Location: Leeds

We are a vibrant, fast-paced food manufacturer employing 13,300 colleagues across 16 manufacturing units and 17 distribution depots. We supply a wide range of products to all UK food retailers and generated revenues of £1.8bn in FY24. Our extensive distribution network makes over 10,500 daily deliveries of chilled and frozen produce.

In this role, you will support the Category Manager in delivering growth plans by analyzing market and store data to produce reports and presentations. Your insights will help identify opportunities for growth for both Greencore and our customers. You will assist in reviewing customer ranges, identifying range gaps, analyzing sales, and supporting new product development.

You will work closely with the commercial and food development teams and our customers to deepen your industry knowledge and become an expert in your field. Key responsibilities include:

1. Downloading and manipulating data from retailer and market data systems using Excel.
2. Collecting information on product ranges and prices by visiting stores.
3. Responding to ad hoc queries from internal and external stakeholders.
4. Creating PowerPoint presentations on market information.
5. Raising and tracking purchase orders to ensure accurate financial management.

Ideal candidate: You should demonstrate a passion for the customer, possess commercial awareness, and have excellent relationship-building skills. Effective communication and influencing abilities are essential. You must be well-organized, able to work independently, and proactive with a positive attitude. Knowledge of retail and commercial reasoning is desirable. You should be confident, accountable, and detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are required.

This role offers hybrid working; however, you will be expected to travel to a Greencore site weekly and visit customer stores regularly.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 8EQ. Salary is negotiable.
