This role is both outward-facing and strategically grounded—focused on generating new business, developing existing accounts, and building a repeatable, high-frequency revenue stream through paint and associated equipment sales. Operating across sales, account management, and category strategy, the role bridges the gap between market demand and internal execution. It plays a critical role in identifying opportunities, shaping product development, refining pricing strategy, and ensuring the category evolves in line with customer needs and competitive pressures.### **WHAT YOU'LL DO**1. **New Business Development & Lead Generation**Proactively identify and target new opportunities across:* Sports clubs (grassroots to professional)* Schools, colleges, and universities* Local authorities and contractors* Groundskeepers and facility managersExecute outbound sales activity including:* Cold outreach (phone, email, LinkedIn)* On-site prospecting and visits* Referrals and relationship-led introductionsBuild and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.Own the full top-of-funnel process from prospecting through to initial deal agreement.2. **Field Sales & Product Demonstration (When appropriate)**Travel to meet prospects and customers:* Site visits and facility walkthroughs* Grounds team requirementsDeliver hands-on product demonstrations including:* Line marking machines* Paint performance and applicationShowcase clear value versus competitor products.Drive conversion through practical, experience-led selling.3. **Account Management & Repeat Revenue Growth**Build strong, long-term relationships with customers to drive:* Repeat paint orders (core consumable revenue)* Cross-sell of category equipment and upgradesFollow up on large inbound/online orders to:* Gather feedback* Secure repeat business* Identify upsell opportunitiesWork closely with the inbound sales team to ensure seamless account handling and order processing.4. **Pipeline Ownership & Sales Integration**Maintain clear visibility of pipeline health and future demand.Collaborate with inbound sales to ensure:* Smooth handover of opportunities where required* Alignment on pricing, stock, and delivery expectationsStay involved in key accounts to support retention and growth.5. **Category Ownership & Commercial Performance**Take ownership of the line marking category performance, including:* Revenue growth* Margin performance* Repeat purchase ratesMonitor and analyse sales trends, identifying:* High-performing products* Underperforming areas* Seasonal demand patterns* Drive initiatives to improve category performance and scalability.6. **Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis**Continuously monitor the market landscape, including:* Competitor products and pricing* Supplier positioning* Industry trends and innovationsConduct “like-for-like” product comparisons to maintain competitiveness.Identify pricing opportunities and risks within the category.Act as the internal expert on the line marking market.7. **Product Development & Range Expansion**Identify gaps in the current product offering, including:* Paint formulations* Equipment features* Bundled solutionsWork closely with product development and buying teams to:* Launch new products* Improve existing ranges* Align offerings with customer needsContribute to building a more complete and competitive category range.8. **Cross-Functional Collaboration**Work closely with:* Inbound sales team* Product development* Buying & sourcing* Marketing* Operations & logisticsEnsure alignment between sales activity, product availability, and operational capability.Support forecasting through accurate pipeline and demand insights.### **WHAT YOU'LL BRING*** Sales Expertise: Strong ability to sell in-person and convert.* Commercial Awareness: Deep understanding of pricing, margins, and repeat revenue models.* Category Thinking: Ability to take ownership of a product category, not just individual sales.* Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on long-term value.* Market Awareness: Ability to analyse competitors and identify opportunities.* Self-Management: Comfortable working autonomously.**Role Positioning**This role is the commercial owner and growth driver of the line marking category.
