Job description

We are excited to announce a unique operational role focused on ensuring the efficient delivery of our wastewater network operations for our customers in the South London Catchment.

As our Catchment Delivery Specialist, you will collaborate with operational teams to proactively repair and maintain our wastewater network. This role is crucial in leveraging our smart network and sewer depth monitors to reduce pollution and flooding.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a true waste catchment approach, joining the South London team responsible for the network and pumping assets serving 3.6 million people! Our team is passionate about maximising the potential of our people and providing exceptional customer experiences for the communities and environment we serve.

  • Base location: South London - Crossness - SE29AQ, however, you will cover the wider area and drive between several different sites; therefore, you will need a full clean UK driving licence.
  • Working pattern: Hybrid - 38 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

What you’ll be doing as a Catchment Delivery Specialist:
  • Proactively manage flooding and pollution risks by becoming a catchment specialist with awareness of at-risk postcodes.
  • Lead catchment risk management for South London (Crossness/Long Reach/Beddington/Hogsmill).
  • Minimise flooding and pollution by identifying and proactively managing risks.
  • Own and deliver the escape of sewage reduction plan.
  • Utilise these plans to proactively engage with key stakeholders (e.g., customers, councils, contractors).
  • Champion change through a passion for continuous improvement, promoting best practices and sharing local knowledge with your operational colleagues.
  • Focus on proactive interventions, including the use of SMART waste tools and monitors.
  • Drive CSO (Consented Storm Overflows) improvements.
What you should bring to the role
  • Significant relevant industry experience and understanding of the business is desirable.
  • Excellent IT and Data Analyst skills to identify proactive opportunities to reduce pollution and Flooding.
  • Strong team player with the ability to influence others.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in managing contractor relationships.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of the New Roads and Streetworks Act is desirable.
