We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cat5 Patch Cabling Technician to join our network infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in structured cabling, particularly in Cat5 and Cat5e patch cabling, with a focus on high-quality patching, labeling, and comprehensive cable testing.

Key Responsibilities

Install, patch, and terminate Cat5 and Cat5e cables in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

Perform end-to-end cabling tasks including wall jack installation, patch panel termination, and cable routing.

Conduct continuity testing, certification, and troubleshooting of network cables using appropriate tools (Fluke, TDR, etc.).

Maintain accurate labeling and documentation of all cabling installations.

Ensure neat, organized, and safe cable management practices.

Collaborate with network engineers and IT teams to support network upgrades and relocations.

Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements

Proven experience in Cat5/Cat5e patch cabling and network cable testing.

Familiarity with common cable testers and network verification tools.

Strong knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA).

Attention to detail and commitment to clean and efficient cable management.

Ability to read floor plans and wiring schematics.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Good verbal communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in network cabling (e.g., BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent).

Experience with other low-voltage systems (Cat6, coaxial, fiber optic) is a plus.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if field work required).
