The Team: Catastrophe Analytics

The Catastrophe Analytics team, embedded within the broking unit, assists clients in analyzing risks from natural perils and catastrophes across all product classes.

The Role: CAT Analytics Innovation Specialist

This role is for a technically skilled individual with CAT experience to join our reinsurance business, focusing on creating efficiencies, developing tools, enhancing programming, and supporting data management through dashboards and visualization tools. The successful candidate will develop portfolio exposure models, establish analysis procedures, and apply their expertise to advance our CAT operations.

How you'll make an impact

The skills and experience:

  • Contribute to process improvements.
  • Manage products, systems, and/or projects/processes.
  • Address function-related problems, sometimes complex.
  • Coach and review work of junior staff.
  • Achieve operational targets impacting function-level results.
  • Lead small project teams and train junior staff as needed.
  • Apply best practices to improve products, services, or processes.
  • Resolve complex problems where precedent may not exist.

About You

The requirements:

  • Experience in London/global insurance markets with knowledge of (re)insurance business.
  • Understanding reinsurance structures, ideally within UK Property market.
  • Interest in client-facing roles and leading analytics relationships.
  • Working knowledge of at least one vendor model (RMS, AIR).
  • Ability to demonstrate innovative risk assessment applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially programming skills (SQL, VBA, R).
