Job Description:

The Assistant File Handler will undertake a variety of mainly file handling tasks to support the team and main File Handlers. They will develop their skills to progress to manage a caseload of EL/PL fixed fee cases on behalf of insurance clients. The role requires a forensic and analytical approach, with experience or appreciation of the documents and evidence in these cases. Once competent, the work may include Pre-action disclosure files, Infant Approval Hearings, and MOJ Stage 3 files, handled on a Non-Delegated Authority basis.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist File Handlers with tasks such as dealing with disclosure, reviewing evidence, conducting investigations, liaising with parties, instructing counsel/experts, attending conferences and trials, handling correspondence, reviewing quantum, drafting legal documents, and managing routine queries and activities.
